Western Oakland Transportation Authority

The Western Oakland Transportation Authority (WOTA) is a door-to-door demand response transportation service for resident seniors age 55+ and disabled adults age 18+ of Highland Township, Walled Lake, Waterford and White Lake with 12 lift-equipped vehicles. WOTA is operated in partnership with SMART through the Community Transit program.

WOTA operates from 7am-4pm Monday through Friday and takes qualified residents of those communities to work, medical/dental, shopping, socializing/entertainment, friend/family homes, etc. within the western side of Oakland County, WOTA does not drive outside the county. There is a cost per stop. Riders must be pre-registered, appointments require a minimum 48-hour notice and can be scheduled up to a year in advance. All vehicles are lift-equipped and drivers will assist from door-to-door, drivers cannot cross entrance thresholds. Anyone unable to manage themselves must have a personal care assistant, the assistant rides free, and also must be registered. Registration forms are available on our website or by calling the office. WOTA is closed on government holidays.
