IDHS’s purpose it to provide our state’s residents with streamlined access to integrated services, especially those who are striving to move from welfare to work and economic independence, and others who face multiple challenges to self-sufficiency.

The Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission protects the rights and promotes the welfare of persons with disabilities.

INCIL is the statewide association for Illinois’ 22 Centers for Independent Living (CILs). Through the centers, persons with disabilities in Illinois are empowered with the knowledge and skills to make their own life choices and pursue their own goals of self-sufficiency and full participation in their communities.

The vision of the Illinois School for the Deaf is to educate students to become responsible, self-supporting citizens. Our schools will be safe learning communities that encourage students to attain their highest potential in reading, writing, and mathematics.

The vision of the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired is to provide a quality comprehensive education and serve as a statewide resource to students in Illinois with visual impairments assisting them in becoming personally productive and self-sufficient citizens.

The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living (IVCIL) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization that assists persons with disabilities in opening doors to their independence.

The mission of IICIL is to create and maintain independence options for people with disabilities by advocating for civil rights, providing services, and promoting full participation of disabled individuals in all aspects of the community.

Dedicated to the creation of a learning and thinking environment that challenges concepts of what people with disabilities can do.

We assist people with disabilities to achieve their full human potential and to advocate for a society that is free from both physical and attitudinal barriers so that we may be full participants in our own communities

INCIGHT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon. The mission is to unlock the potential of people through employment, education and independence. INCIGHT serves individuals living with barriers, people with disabilities, single parents, veterans, welfare recipients, and justice involved.
